Join the Fair
Bring your school’s student projects to the Simcoe County Regional Science and Technology Fair. The fair serves students across Simcoe County, including public and independent schools and homeschool communities.
Get your school involved
Plan to hold your school science fair before the end of February. Contact Rhea Krause at rkrause@scdsb.on.ca by mid-January with an estimate of the number of projects your school expects to enter. The current teacher information page lists a maximum of 15 projects per school.
Register your students
Regional registration usually takes place from February into early March, with a deadline typically in the first week of March. The registration link is emailed to participating teachers and posted on the fair homepage when registration opens.
Register each project separately. For team projects, each student partner needs a unique email address and contact information. The fair site says a fee is charged per project and invoiced to the school after registration closes. Late registration is not normally accepted.
Prepare for fair weekend
The regional fair is usually held in late March or early April. Project check-in and setup take place before 6 p.m. Friday. Judging is Friday evening from 6–9 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9 a.m.–noon. Activities and entertainment take place throughout the weekend, with the awards ceremony on Saturday afternoon.
The committee does not provide student supervision at the fair. Students must be supervised at all times by a parent or adult guardian. If a student cannot attend the awards ceremony, prizes are sent through the school courier.
